Italian born, Jamaican resident Alborosie is an exception to the rule. As far as white emcees crossing over in hip hop, there are about as many authentic white Reggae artists, as there are innercity Opera stars. But this vibe rings true. A minor hit from 07'.
Diddly dum dum. Dopeness!!

Avec toi la vie et belle.

Amadou and Miriam are a visually impaired couple from Mali. Their first album Dimanche a Bamako was filled to the brim with great riffs and feelgood afropop. Some tracks from that effort were produced by "World Music", whatever that means anymore, hero Manu Chao. There second CD Welcome to Mali is out March 6th. I have only heard this track, produced by Blur's Damon Alburn, but I love the new direction they are willing to try their hands at.
What a sweet song this is....
